Chairman of ATLAS Gerald Kenneally’s late father, John Patrick (Paddy) Kenneally, was a soldier in the Australian Army who served on the island of East Timor in 1942. Paddy owed his life to the Timorese who protected him and his fellow Australian Soldiers.
After the invasion by Indonesia in 1975 Paddy fought for the rights of the Timorese who were subjected to persecution of the Indonesian government forces.
Kenneally’s Funerals sponsor ATLAS to honour the Timorese who gave their lives protecting our Australian soldiers in 1942, by assisting in the education and job creation of young Timorese.
